Pew Party 3: Celebrating Community

A couple of weeks ago my team and I had the pleasure of attending Pew Party 3.

A range day organized by social media influencers, Jay the Shooter and Juan aka Pew Culture.

The event took place in Dallas, Texas. Rather, that’s where all the attendees and exhibitors descended.

The Range Day happened in Waxahachie, Texas at the Extreme Tactics and Training Solutions (ETTS) Gun Range.

The first day was a networking event filled with giveaways and delicious Mexican food by a local vendor.

The Mini Fix Compact Bolt Action Rifle giveaway by LIVE Q OR DIE was won by one of Jay and Juan’s followers, Kobie.

You can watch the video here.

The biggest attraction outside of the amazing firearms and accessories was the helicopters.

There were two helicopters provided by HeliConcepts, the orange one was wrapped in Sponsor logos and the second one was a red plain helicopter.

From the minute everyone arrived the choppers were in flight.

It was a sight to see. Everyone was enjoying the adrenaline from shooting from the sky at targets below roughly 1 mile out from the takeoff zone.

But what I want to highlight is the sense of community. Often when people think of the Second Amendment or the gun space, they have 1 very specific stereotype in mind.

That stereotype is usually a right-wing conservative, country, backwoods generational hunter who loves everything outdoors.

This event is proof of the shift that’s happening in real-time.

The NSSF Reported in their 2021 Firearm and Ammunition Report that there were 3.2 million new gun owners, 44.8% of them being black.

Our space is diversifying. The age groups are getting younger.

Influencers help raise awareness of the Second Amendment and the fact that it IS for everyone. Regardless of your race, religion, or background.

It was beautiful to see Black, Latino, Asian, and White people come together for one cause and purpose: Exercising their right to bear arms.

Rost Martin, a black-owned firearms company, was there showcasing their RM1C.

A beautiful piece of hardware designed for EDC. One of our editors and videographers, Andres, first time shooting was the RM1C. He loved it.

MGS, led by Zeke Stout, is a trade school focused on training the next generation of gunsmiths.

George, an Asian American who spearheads Valhalla Tactical, was full of energy.

The diversity also included women. It’s hard to gauge exactly how many women were there but it was a noticeable amount. Black women, White women, Latina women.

It was beautiful!

The young brothers from the 2ABoys, who were there with their father, are a prime example of our space evolving.

They are young shooters well versed in firearm safety and proper handling at their young age. It’s this attitude, this community that allows these stories to be seen, heard, and told.

The community showed up, showed out, and supported the event shoulder to shoulder. I’m already looking forward to what Jay and Juan have in store for Pew Party 4.

If you missed this one, make sure you’re there for the next one!
